Centre for Space Physics is an autonomous registered body dedicated to do high quality research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Space Physics related topics. However, it is also dedicated to do some popularization of these topics. Every year, it has organized Districtwise Space Science Symposia (DSSS) in two different districts. So far, East and West Midnapur, North 24 Paragana, Hoogly, Malda, Uttar Dinajpur have been covered. It also publishes Mahaviswa-O-Aami, a Bengali magazine, twice per year. This telescope making workshop is a unique event in this state where so many telescopes will be handed over to schools from all over West Bengal.
